The State Labour Inspectorate issued a warning to those who force employees to carry out various tasks on weekends

The State Labour Inspectorate reminded that neither forced labour nor pressure is allowed in Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the Inspectorate, appeals are being received on social networks regarding cases of forcing employees to perform various tasks overtime, as well as on weekends, in some regions. The State Labour Inspectorate stated that forced labour is prohibited by law, and forcing an employee to work under threat of punishment or pressure without their consent is not allowed.

It was also reported that cases of unjustified or forced removal of citizens from the "Social Register" are being observed, and the inspectorate stated that this could lead to these citizens being deprived of the opportunity to use state-guaranteed social protection and assistance.

"No instruction can be a basis for restricting an employee's labour rights or a citizen's right to social protection," the press service of the State Labour Inspectorate said in a statement.

It is noted that the appeals will be studied, and if the cases are confirmed, measures prescribed by law will be taken against the guilty officials. A corresponding warning will also be sent to regional leaders to prevent such situations.

Earlier, during the voting process in the "Initiative Budget", the inspectorate called on employees of budgetary organisations who were being forced to vote to report this via the short number 1176.
