Kukdala district khokim attacked

An entrepreneur attacked Khurram Jurayev, the khokim of the Kukdala district in Qashqadaryo region, with an axe.

According to a source, the incident occurred yesterday, October 14, at a cotton reception point. The entrepreneur was waiting for the arrival of the khokim. After Khurram Jurayev arrived, he struck him from behind with an axe.

It is reported that the conflict between the khokim and the entrepreneur started over the issue of demolishing a shop belonging to the entrepreneur. The khokimiyat filed a lawsuit in court regarding the demolition of the shop. However, the court ruled in favor of the entrepreneur. Later, the disputed case was transferred to another district court, and the khokimiyat's claim was satisfied.

After that, the khokimiyat gave the entrepreneur a one-week deadline and demanded that the shop be demolished.

The source added that Khurram Jurayev is currently in the hospital. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the incident and announced that an investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor's office. Meanwhile, Ahror Sodiqov, head of the press service of the regional khokimiyat, stated that he was "not aware of the exact details."

As a reminder, Khurram Abdurazikovich Jurayev has been serving as the khokim of Kukdala district since April 19, 2022.
