Permit to be granted for trade and services in apartments on the 1st floor of multi-story buildings without converting them into non-residential premises

It has been proposed to allow the adaptation of apartments on the first floor of multi-apartment buildings for trade and service activities without converting them into the category of non-residential premises. This was announced at an expanded meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev on increasing employment and income of the population in the regions.

At the meeting, the issue of effective use of the service sector's potential in increasing employment was considered. It was noted that convenient services for the population, such as a barbershop, beauty salon, small shop, atelier, shoe and household appliance repair shops, can be established on the first floors of multi-story buildings. However, under the current procedure, excessive procedures and permits are required to convert an apartment into non-residential premises.

For this reason, it was proposed to allow the adaptation of apartments on the first floor for trade and service activities without converting them into the category of non-residential premises. In this regard, it is envisaged that it will be sufficient for the entrepreneur or apartment owner to notify about the start of the relevant activity.

Officials were instructed to develop a list of types of services that can be organized in such apartments and safety requirements within one month.

At the meeting, it was also announced that starting from October 1, the social tax rate for enterprises in rural districts that employ a member of a needy family will be set at 2 percent for that employee.
