The category of "commercial lease" will be introduced in rental relations
In Uzbekistan, it is planned to re-lease land plots leased through auctions to other entrepreneurs, introduce the category of "commercial lease" for entrepreneurial activities, and strengthen legal guarantees for the recovery of investments made by the tenant in the facility. According to the presidential decree, a relevant draft law should be developed within two months. If an individual leases real estate belonging to him to a legal entity belonging to him, the minimum amount of the rental payment will not apply.
A draft law aimed at improving rental relations in Uzbekistan will be developed, which provides for the introduction of the category of "commercial rental". This is stipulated in the Presidential Decree.
For information, the proposal to improve the legal mechanisms for commercial rental was put forward by the founder of the Korzinka supermarket chain, Zafar Hoshimov, at a meeting with the head of state. The above-mentioned Presidential Decree was adopted following the results of that meeting. This draft law on rental relations should be prepared by the end of October 2026.
According to another draft law provided for in the Decree, the minimum amount of rent will not apply to real estate objects provided for rent or free use by the founder of a legal entity, who is an individual.
It should be recalled that, according to another decree adopted in May, from January 1, 2027, when renting property with a total area of more than 1,000 square meters to business entities by individuals and legal entities in regions outside the city of Tashkent, minimum rental rates will not be applied for taxation purposes.
