It has been established that the financing of courts' activities will be carried out solely from the state budget

In Uzbekistan, the procedure for financing the activities of the judicial authorities has been consolidated by law. The Law "On Financing the Activities of the Judicial Authorities" was signed on September 11.

According to the law, the activities of the courts are financed solely from the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the law on the State Budget for the upcoming year, separate funds will be provided for financing the activities of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Judicial Council.

According to the established procedure, the financing of the courts' activities must allow for the full and independent administration of justice. The distribution of the allocated funds is carried out by the respective bodies themselves for the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Judicial Council, and by the Department for Ensuring the Activities of Courts under the Supreme Court for other courts.

The law also stipulates that when preparing the budget draft for the upcoming year, the material support of judges and court staff, incentive payments for their labor, expenses for the material-technical and financial support of the courts' activities, as well as expenses related to the social security of judges and their family members, must be taken into account.

According to the law, reducing the allocated funds for expenses intended to ensure the activities of the courts is not permitted. The procedure for financing the activities of the courts will henceforth be determined by a separate law. The law comes into force from the day of its official publication.

At a meeting on February 12 chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was reported that there are plans to establish a Judges' Disciplinary Board in Uzbekistan. By establishing the new board to ensure the independence and immunity of judges, an objective procedure for applying disciplinary sanctions against a judge will be created.
