President Shavkat Mirziyoyev endorsed the Fair Judiciary–2030 Strategy for judicial reform by signing a decree on August 14, acknowledging that substantial efforts are still required in the field. Uzbekistan 24 TV channel reported on his comments.
Mirziyoyev stated, "Judicial reform is a paramount concern. We have accomplished a great deal and persist in our efforts, yet the crucial question remains: are people content with the courts? We must collaborate to uncover an honest response to this legitimate inquiry. It is imperative that everyone who enters a courthouse perceives the renewed ethos of the New Uzbekistan."
He further elaborated, "The judiciary stands as one of the three foundational branches of state authority. Let the Constitutional Court act as an impartial arbiter: assessing what has been achieved over the past decade and what more we can attain. We have recently appointed a new head [of the Supreme Court]. Our work is dedicated to the populace – to ensure their satisfaction and restore their dignity. Nevertheless, it is truthful to admit that the tasks ahead surpass what has already been accomplished."
The president emphasized, "We must establish an environment where 100% of individuals engaging with the court system have confidence in the process. Our objective is to achieve a contemporary judiciary by 2030."
