India fell to second place in the number of foreigners coming to study in Uzbekistan

India dropped to second place among foreigners coming to study in Uzbekistan

According to the National Statistics Committee, in January–August 2026, 29,548 foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan for study purposes. This figure is 15.3 thousand people more compared to the same period in 2025, representing a 2.1-fold increase.

By country, the highest figure was recorded among citizens of Turkmenistan. During the reporting period, 11,986 Turkmen citizens came to Uzbekistan to study.

6,163 citizens from India visited Uzbekistan for study purposes. With this, India took second place in the list of countries.

2,271 foreigners came to study from Tajikistan, and 1,311 from China. The number of Pakistani citizens was 1,252.

1,028 students from the Kyrgyz Republic, 852 from Egypt, and 732 from the Republic of Korea arrived in Uzbekistan.

620 foreigners from the Philippines came to Uzbekistan for study purposes. The remaining countries accounted for 3,333 visitors.
