In Uzbekistan, technical college students will also participate in the international Work and Travel program.

It was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution "On approval of the regulation on the procedure for forming and maintaining the register of entities operating in scientific and innovative fields" was approved. According to the document, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, students studying in secondary and specialized secondary vocational education programs of technical colleges will also be provided with the opportunity to work and travel in foreign countries within the framework of international Work and Travel programs.

Within the framework of the program, a procedure for allocating soft loans to cover round-trip travel and other expenses for working and traveling in the European Union countries, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will be introduced.

It is specified that information about the technical college's name, address, code, profession and specialization field, level, form of education, student status, and grades will be reflected in the Vocational Education Management Information System — EMIS RT.

The Migration Agency will take measures annually by March 1 to sign cooperation contracts with foreign employers to work and travel in foreign countries within the framework of international Work and Travel programs.

In 2025, the "Work and Travel" program was introduced for university students in Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the program, the allocation of soft loans to student youth to cover round-trip travel to foreign countries and other expenses for working and traveling was established.

During Shavkat Mirziyoyev's dialogue with youth on February 24, 2026, it was announced that just like university students, technical college students would also be provided with the opportunity to work abroad for six months and earn extra income based on the Work and Travel program.
