Technicum students in Uzbekistan to also participate in the international Work and Travel program

Students studying in medium and specialized medium vocational education programs at technicums in Uzbekistan will be provided with the opportunity to work and travel abroad within the framework of international Work and Travel programs. This is stipulated in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 604 dated October 31, 2026.

According to the new procedure, technicum students will be able to travel, work, and visit European Union countries, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

A special loan system will be introduced to cover participants' round-trip travel and other related expenses.

Additionally, the Migration Agency has been tasked with signing relevant cooperation agreements under the Work and Travel program with foreign employers annually by March 1.

In order to make the vocational education management processes transparent, key data will be continuously entered into the "EMIS RT" information system. This electronic platform will reflect detailed information about the technicum's name, address, and code, the field of profession and specialization, the study level, the form of education, the student's status, and their academic performance grades.

This initiative was previously mentioned during the president's meeting with youth on February 24.

Starting May 2025, it was established that Uzbek students can receive an interest-free loan in the amount of 40 times the base calculating amount for the Work and Travel program.
