In Uzbekistan, women who graduated from higher education institutions are ahead of men in finding employment. However, the opposite is observed in terms of income.
According to the Graduate Quality Index (GQI) data, it took female graduates an average of 2 months to find a job, while it took men 3 months.
At the same time, the average monthly income of male graduates was 6 million soums, while for women it was 3.9 million soums. That is, the average income of men is nearly 54 percent higher than that of women.
The GQI analysis covered data of 249,432 graduates who completed 170 higher education organizations in the 2024/2025 academic year. Along with the speed of employment, it also assessed stable employment, official income, and the form of employment.
The report notes that when interpreting such indicators, it is also necessary to take into account the specialization of the university, the regional labor market, the composition of graduates, and other factors.
