A complex hip replacement surgery using an AI-powered robot assistant was performed at the Republican Specialized Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics. Doctors from various regions of the country observed the intervention online.
The robot helps surgeons perform operations with high precision. Before the intervention begins, the system analyzes the patient's computed tomography data and creates a virtual surgical plan. During the procedure, it helped the surgeon perform ultra-precise movements and position the implant at the correct angle, which is especially important in cases of complex joint deformities.
In addition, robotic technologies help shorten the duration of the surgery, reduce the risk of complications, and speed up the patient's post-surgical recovery.
Specialists from China also took part in the operation. Cooperation with foreign colleagues gives Uzbek doctors the opportunity to exchange experience and master modern treatment methods.
Thanks to the online broadcast, specialists from all regions of Uzbekistan were able to observe the surgeons' work, study every stage, and learn from their colleagues' experience.
In the future, similar surgeries using an AI robot are planned to be performed in the regional branches of the center as well.
Earlier, robotic technologies had already been used in Uzbekistan: at the Republican Center of Neurosurgery, a six-month-old child with a severe form of epilepsy was successfully operated on using a robot assistant and a navigation system.
