In Turkey, an Uzbek woman died of drug poisoning
On September 19, in Turkey, a citizen of Uzbekistan, Mohira Meliyeva, died as a result of poisoning from a pharmaceutical product. This was reported by the country's Consulate General in Istanbul.
According to the information provided by the Consulate General, during her illness, the deceased was treated at home with the help of individuals who did not possess the relevant medical qualifications. Due to the side effects of the medications taken during the treatment, her condition worsened, an infection developed in her blood, and a severe reaction was observed in her body. Despite this, she was not taken to the hospital in a timely manner.
After her condition worsened, the woman was first taken to Marmara Hospital, and then, due to the inability to admit her to the intensive care unit, she was transferred to Kartal District Hospital. Despite the medical assistance provided, it was not possible to save her life.
The body of the deceased was returned to Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Consulate General and the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Consulate General urged Uzbek citizens in Turkey not to take medications without a doctor's prescription, to refrain from unofficial treatment, and to immediately contact an official medical institution in case of a sharp deterioration in their health.
After the Consulate General received information regarding the situation, necessary measures were taken in cooperation with the relevant Turkish authorities.
