Clarification has been provided regarding the situation of the Uzbek bride in Turkey

Reports had spread that M.B., a citizen of Uzbekistan, disappeared in the Milas district of Turkey's Muğla province after taking a large amount of gold and jewelry following her wedding.

According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, M.B. has not fled anywhere and is currently in the Milas area. She voluntarily went to the police department and gave a statement regarding the situation.

The citizen denied the allegations made against her. According to her, the gold jewelry presented at the wedding was handed over to her father-in-law, and they were later sold to pay off debts. M.B. stated that she has provided correspondence and video materials confirming this situation to the Turkish law enforcement agencies.

Currently, the investigation by the competent Turkish authorities is ongoing. The Consulate General has requested not to draw one-sided conclusions and not to spread unconfirmed information until the investigation is completed.
