Around 10 Uzbek citizens are being checked in Turkey.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul announced investigative measures against citizens due to suspicious money transfers.

In the Turkish province of Aydin, an investigation is underway against approximately ten Uzbek citizens suspected of involvement in dubious money transfers using bank cards. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, after receiving information from the relevant departments of the Turkish Ministry of Interior.

Earlier, reports circulated on social media of the detention of more than 30 Uzbek citizens in connection with this case. However, according to preliminary data from Turkish law enforcement agencies, the investigation involves approximately 10 Uzbek citizens.

Some of them, in accordance with court orders, have been placed in correctional facilities, while others are being held in deportation centers. Some citizens have been released on bail, and the investigation against them is ongoing.

The consulate explained that the nature of the legal measures applied to the citizens is determined by the extent of their alleged involvement in the case, the amount of funds transferred through their bank accounts, and other circumstances revealed during the investigation.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, in conjunction with Turkish authorities, is monitoring the situation and providing citizens with the necessary consular and legal support to protect their legal rights and interests.

The Consulate strongly recommended that citizens of Uzbekistan refrain from sharing their bank cards, accounts, and mobile banking access with third parties. Citizens were also advised not to accept or transfer funds of unknown origin at anyone's request.

The diplomatic mission warned that sharing a bank card or account with others for use, as well as acting as an intermediary in the transfer of funds of dubious origin, may entail serious legal consequences under Turkish law.

The Consulate General urged citizens of Uzbekistan in Turkey to strictly comply with local laws and avoid engaging in suspicious financial transactions.
