An Uzbek woman disappeared after her wedding to a Turkish man, taking gold worth 100 thousand dollars

In Turkey, a citizen of Uzbekistan went missing after a three-day wedding. According to her husband, gold jewelry worth approximately 5 million liras (104 thousand dollars) and a mobile phone disappeared along with her. Later, the woman turned herself in to the police, denied the accusations, and stated that she had left the house due to violence and threats.

The wedding took place on August 18 in the Milas district of Muğla province and lasted for three days and three nights. As part of the celebration, traditional oil wrestling matches were held. The groom's parents spent about 1.5 million liras on organizing them, and the prize was presented to the winner by the bride herself.

After the celebrations ended, the woman left the house. Her husband contacted the police and reported that she had taken gold jewelry worth approximately 5 million liras, 300 thousand liras in cash, and a mobile phone with her.

Following this, the police launched a search. Law enforcement officers attempted to locate the woman using bus route and hotel data.

Later, she came to the police station on her own. In her statement, the woman denied taking all the property her husband had claimed. According to her, on the day she left, she went to her mother's house and took only 20 gold coins and 226 thousand liras in cash with her. The woman also claimed that she had been subjected to violence and threats by her husband. She filed a complaint against her spouse and father-in-law, and also handed over screenshots of messages to the police as evidence.

The husband, in turn, denied the allegations of violence and stated that he himself had been subjected to insults and threats by his wife and her father.

After giving her statement, the woman was released. The investigation is ongoing, as law enforcement officers clarify the circumstances of the incident and the whereabouts of the missing gold jewelry.

At the "Oybek" checkpoint, an X-ray examination revealed that a female citizen attempted to smuggle 180.8 grams of jewelry by hiding them in her intimate area.
