In 2025, growth was recorded in production volumes, the number of operating enterprises, and employment in the industry of Uzbekistan. At the same time, the manufacturing industry occupied the main place in the structure of industrial production, enterprises, and jobs.

Production volume, number of enterprises, and employment are growing in Uzbekistan's industry
In 2025, the volume of industrial production reached 1,163.2 trillion soums, which is higher compared to 958.1 trillion soums in 2024. The annual growth rate in real terms amounted to 6.8%.
Along with the increase in production volume, the number of industrial enterprises also grew. In 2025, the number of active enterprises reached 59.5 thousand, increasing by 7%, or nearly 3.9 thousand, within one year. The number of people employed in industry amounted to 1.89 million, which is 160.5 thousand people or 9.3% more than the previous year.
The main part of industrial production is accounted for by the manufacturing industry. In 2025, its share in the total volume of industrial products was 84.5%. Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply had a share of 8.4%, the mining industry 6.6%, and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities 0.5%.
The dominance of the manufacturing industry is even more pronounced in the structure of active enterprises. 92.7% of all industrial enterprises are concentrated in this sector. The share of the mining industry was 4.3%, water supply and waste management 1.9%, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 1.1%.
A similar structure is observed in the distribution of employment. In 2025, 89.9% of those employed in industry worked in the manufacturing sector. The share of those employed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was 3.7%, in the mining industry 3.5%, and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities 2.8%.
Thus, the results of 2025 show a simultaneous increase in industrial production, the number of enterprises, and employment.
The manufacturing industry provided 84.5% of industrial production, united 92.7% of active enterprises, and 89.9% of those employed in the sector. The presented indicators confirm its leading position in the country's industrial activity.
