The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has published the country's main indicators for the past 35 years.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has presented the main socio-economic indicators observed since the country gained independence. The Chamber compared data for different periods from 1991 to 2026.

According to the CCI, the permanent population of Uzbekistan increased from 20.6 million in 1991 to 38.2 million as of January 1, 2026.

The volume of gross domestic product increased from $6.4 billion in 1994 to $147.1 billion in 2025. During this period, foreign trade turnover reached $82.8 billion, compared to $3.3 billion in 1991.

The country's exports amounted to $34.2 billion in 2025. In 1991, exports were estimated at $1.8 billion. Investments increased from $1.1 billion in 1991 to $48.5 billion in 2025.

Significant growth was also observed in the industrial and construction sectors. The volume of industrial production increased from $3 billion in 1991 to $87.5 billion in 2025. The volume of construction work increased from $611 million in 1995 to $25 billion in 2025.

The network of educational institutions also expanded during the years of independence. The number of higher education institutions increased from 52 in the 1991/1992 academic year to 215 in the 2025/2026 academic year. The number of general secondary education institutions also increased from 8,557 to 11,118 during the same period.

The number of hospitals also increased - from 1,388 in 1991 to 1,972 in 2024. The average life expectancy of the population increased from 66.4 years in 1991 to 75.4 years in 2025.

Changes were also observed in the level of provision of apartments with cars and mobile phones. In 2010, there were 21 cars per 100 households, while in 2025 this figure reached 61. During this period, the number of mobile phones per 100 households increased from 145 to 359.

Tourist flows have also increased. If in 2012 1.9 million tourists visited Uzbekistan, in 2025 their number reached 11.7 million people.

The number of enterprises and organizations operating as of January 1 also increased from 201 thousand in 2010 to 474.9 thousand in 2025.
