In Tashkent, bus drivers are having their salaries reduced for missed stops. Video

A capital city bus driver can be deprived of 5% of their salary if they drive past a stop designated on the route. With repeated violations, it can lead to dismissal.

According to Narbaev, bus movement is monitored via GPS. The system makes it possible to determine whether the driver stopped at the point designated on the route. If they drove past it without stopping, disciplinary measures can be applied to them, and 5% can be withheld from their salary.

If a driver turns off the GPS and the violation cannot be tracked through the system, passengers are asked to report such cases to the short number 1062. The company promises to consider such reports individually.

For repeated violations, a driver may lose their job. After three or more such cases, the employer can appeal to the trade union for consent to terminate the employment contract. At the same time, each case is considered separately.

"Toshshahartransxizmat" also admits that the current measures are not yet sufficient. According to Narbaev, some drivers are still looking for ways to bypass the control system, including by turning off the GPS.

As a reminder, 12 traffic lights on the Tashkent Minor Ring Road have been synchronized according to the "green wave" principle. At a speed of 50–60 kilometers per hour, cars can drive about 5 kilometers with a minimum number of stops.
