In Syrdarya, a director who involved kindergarten employees in forced labor was fined 20.6 million soums

In one of the state preschool education organizations in the Syrdarya region, a case of involving employees in forced labor was uncovered.

Citizen D.S. appealed to the Ombudsman, requesting practical assistance regarding the involvement of employees in forced labor at this organization.

The appeal was taken under the control of the Ombudsman, and the situation was investigated by his regional representative in the Syrdarya region with the participation of the State Labor Inspectorate.

During the investigation, it was revealed that several employees were involved in cleaning work after the completion of construction activities in the organization's building and yard. In addition, the employees were also forcibly mobilized to collect votes for a project on the "Initiative Budget" portal.

The State Labor Inspectorate determined that forced labor was permitted in these cases and that the requirements of Article 5 of the Labor Code were violated.

For this reason, the head of the preschool education organization, G.A., was fined 50 times the BCA (Base Calculating Amount) — 20.6 million soums, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 51 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (administrative coercion to labor).
