The head of the youth affairs department of the Sariasia district of the Surkhandarya region, R. Rakhmatzhonov, was brought to administrative responsibility following an investigation into reports of forcing youth leaders to collect votes for projects under the "Open Budget" initiative. This was reported by the State Labor Inspectorate.
Earlier, reports appeared on social media that the official had mandatorily involved youth leaders in collecting votes for "Open Budget" projects and had also subjected them to abusive treatment.
The State Labor Inspectorate reviewed the information in accordance with the established procedure.
Based on the results of the investigation, the information circulated on social media was confirmed.
An administrative penalty was applied to R. Rakhmatzhonov on the basis of Article 51 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility.

The State Labor Inspectorate emphasized that permitting forced labor is a violation of the law.
