In the Zharkurgan district of the Surkhandarya region, a college instructor was found guilty of sexually harassing a minor student. The court sentenced him to 5 days of administrative arrest.

According to the case files, in late September, a vocational training instructor pulled the 16-year-old student out of a physics class and took her to a department office. There, he attempted to commit acts of a sexual nature against the girl. The student resisted and ran out of the office.

Later, the man called her from an unfamiliar number and, using a different name, asked her to come to the gym. According to the victim, he began harassing her again there. The girl managed to leave the premises.

In court, the man confirmed that he had taken the student out of class, but denied committing any acts of a sexual nature.

The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan (sexual harassment) and sentenced him to 5 days of administrative arrest.
