In the Muzrabot district of the Surkhandarya region, a 59-year-old school teacher who committed sexual harassment against a female colleague was jailed for 5 days.
The incident occurred on October 3, 2026, at around 15:00 at one of the general secondary schools. On that day, teacher U.K. approached his female colleague and told her in front of other teachers: "Your dress is so beautiful, I will hug and kiss you."
In court, the woman stated that these words embarrassed her deeply in front of her colleagues. According to her, U.K. had made sexually suggestive comments to her before, but she had not filed a complaint anywhere about it.
"After this incident, my colleagues who were standing there advised me to contact the relevant authorities. That day, I went home and told my mother what had happened. I cried, and my health deteriorated," the woman said.
In court, the man confessed his guilt and stated that he had said the above words in jest.
By the court decision, U.K. was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (committing sexual harassment) and was sentenced to 5 days of administrative detention.
