In Samarkand, Tanzila Narbaeva discussed the development of parliamentary cooperation with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Ackson.

In Samarkand, a meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, and the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Ackson.
The talks took place within the framework of the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis reports.
Narbaeva emphasized that regular contacts with Tulia Ackson contribute to the development of trustful and fruitful cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
During the meeting, it was noted that during Ackson's tenure as President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the organization's role in the field of parliamentary diplomacy has strengthened.
Her initiatives on peace, human rights, gender equality, artificial intelligence, and youth policy were also highlighted.
The parties paid special attention to cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. In particular, the significance of the 150th Assembly of the organization, held in Tashkent in 2025, was noted. The event, held for the first time in Central Asia, was attended by more than 2,000 delegates from nearly 140 countries, including 740 parliamentarians.
The parties also discussed the implementation of the Tashkent Declaration, which calls on parliaments to take practical steps to ensure social development and justice.
The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, taking place in Samarkand, is viewed as an international platform for dialogue on expanding youth participation in political processes and increasing their role in decision-making.
At the conclusion of the meeting, readiness was expressed to continue developing inter-parliamentary ties between Uzbekistan and Tanzania, exchange experience, and expand cooperation within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
