Tanzila Narbayeva met with the US Congressional delegation

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Norbayeva, met with a delegation of members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress. The talks discussed issues of intensifying inter-parliamentary relations, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as establishing direct relations between the regions of Uzbekistan and the US states.

Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Norbayeva held negotiations with a delegation consisting of members of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress Jason Smith, Greg Murphy, Ronnie Jackson and Edward Case.

The meeting reviewed in detail the current state of interparliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and the US and the possibilities for its further development in the future.

The parties noted that the relations between the interparliamentary group of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the US Congress, as well as the activities of the "Uzbekistan Caucus" in the US Congress, play an important role in strengthening political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

It was noted that discussing urgent issues and finding mutually beneficial solutions through parliamentary diplomacy is one of the effective mechanisms of cooperation.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to further intensification of interparliamentary relations and expanding cooperation between parliamentary committees. The sides also exchanged views on establishing direct contacts between the regions of Uzbekistan and the US states, and developing cooperation between local government bodies.

The meeting also discussed issues of expanding trade, economic and investment relations. In particular, the prospects for implementing joint projects in the industrial and agricultural sectors and supporting mutually beneficial investment initiatives were considered.

In addition, the issues of labor relations and gender equality were touched upon, and proposals were made to exchange experience and develop cooperation in these areas.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of further strengthening interparliamentary dialogue between Uzbekistan and the US, expanding areas of practical cooperation, and effectively using existing opportunities was emphasized.
