The Parliamentary Choir is Growing Younger: Youth of Uzbekistan Takes the Mic
According to the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the authoritative South Korean publication Diplomacy Journal published an article dedicated to the upcoming 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The event will be held in Samarkand from September 4 to 6 this year.
As the publication notes, representatives from 183 countries, 15 international organizations, approximately 50 permanent observers, and nearly 300 delegates are expected to attend. The conference program includes six sessions dedicated to pressing issues of ensuring the rights, status, and empowerment of youth in the modern world.
The conference also includes the third Global Forum on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
According to Diplomacy Journal, forum participants will discuss the role of national parliaments and inter-parliamentary cooperation in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as opportunities for further expanding youth participation in implementing the global agenda.
Thus, for several days, Samarkand will become a platform where young politicians and parliamentarians from different countries will be able not only to exchange experiences but also to express their views on the issues that will largely determine the future of the next generation.
