In the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region, responsible officials of the preschool and school education department were found to have embezzled budget funds by obtaining 1.3 billion soums in subsidies based on false data for non-functioning kindergartens. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation, and an investigation is underway.

It has been revealed that 1.3 billion soums in subsidies were allocated to non-functioning kindergartens in Namangan, and the funds were embezzled.
In the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region, a case of embezzlement of 1.3 billion soums in subsidy funds was detected through the registration of preschool education organizations that did not actually operate. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
A pre-investigation inquiry conducted by the Uchkurgan district branch of the Department revealed that responsible officials of the district preschool and school education department, along with others, had conspired.
They registered preschool education organizations in households located in the Mehnatobod and Dehqonobod neighborhoods. However, these preschools did not actually operate.
Despite this, false information was entered into official documents, and 1.3 billion soums in subsidy funds were allocated to these organizations. These funds were embezzled or misappropriated.
In connection with this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 167 (Embezzlement or misappropriation), Article 207 (Negligence in office), and Article 209 (Official forgery) of the Criminal Code.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, a criminal case was initiated in the Samarkand region regarding the embezzlement of 1.1 billion soums of budget funds.
According to the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, employees of the regional preschool and school education department purchased 90.8 thousand units of liquid soap at inflated prices.
