In the Namangan region, one billion soums was embezzled during the procurement of school boilers

In the Davlatabad district of the Namangan region, officials substituted the brand of heating equipment during the procurement of boilers for schools, embezzling one billion soums of budget funds.

The audit was conducted by officers of the Namangan Regional Department under the Prosecutor General's Office as part of a pre-investigation inquiry.

According to preliminary data, officials from the Davlatabad District Department of Preschool and School Education, in conspiracy with other citizens, colluded during the execution of a contract for the supply of heating boilers for local educational institutions.

Under the terms of the contract, ABS brand boilers were supposed to be purchased. However, LES brand products were actually procured.

The audit revealed that as a result of these actions, one billion soums from the budget was misappropriated or embezzled.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the matter under the article for theft by misappropriation or embezzlement. An investigation is underway.

Earlier in Uzbekistan, a tender by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education with a starting value of 587.2 million soums was canceled. The violations were uncovered by the Committee for Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection.
