1 billion soums embezzled in Guliston beautification department

It was revealed that 1 billion soums were embezzled in the Guliston city beautification department, and a criminal case has been initiated.

During a pre-investigation inquiry conducted by the Syrdarya regional department of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, it was established that responsible officials of the Guliston city beautification department registered citizens as employees, calculated 1 billion soums in wages for these citizens who did not actually work, and embezzled or squandered these budget funds by spending them on their own needs.

Regarding this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 167 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement or squandering), and investigative actions are underway.

Responsible officials of the Sharof Rashidov district Beautification Department sold 634 tons of purchased asphalt worth 348.7 million soums for cash and used it for their own needs. Meanwhile, responsible officials of the Parkent district Beautification Department embezzled 324 million soums of budget funds by drawing up fake invoices stating that 540 tons of asphalt had been delivered.
