In Irkutsk, a citizen of Uzbekistan was sentenced to 7.5 years in a penal colony for throwing his daughter from the 4th floor

A court in Irkutsk has sentenced a citizen of Uzbekistan in a case involving the attempted murder of his own daughter. The man brutally attacked the 17-year-old girl, considering her actions an insult to family traditions.

The incident occurred after the father learned about his daughter's date with a young man. Believing that the girl had "disgraced the family's honor," the man first brutally beat her in the apartment and then pushed her out of a fourth-floor window.

As a result of the fall from a great height, the 17-year-old girl sustained multiple fractures and severe injuries. She survived only thanks to timely medical assistance and prolonged treatment.

During the investigation and trial, the citizen of Uzbekistan did not plead guilty and showed no remorse. He openly justified his actions by citing "centuries-old traditions and cultural characteristics," claiming he had the right to such punishment as part of a strict upbringing.

However, the court found the defendant's arguments groundless and classified his actions as an especially grave crime. The man was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months of deprivation of liberty. He will serve his sentence in a maximum-security penal colony.
