In India, a monkey caused the death of a 91-year-old woman (video)

In the Indian state of Karnataka, a 91-year-old woman was attacked by a monkey in her yard and died the next day, NDTV reported.

The incident took place in the city of Koppal. Najamunnisa, the wife of Indian writer M.S. Savadatti, was walking in her yard when a monkey suddenly pounced on her. The woman fell down. When her daughter rushed to help her mother, the monkey attacked the daughter as well.

The victim was taken to a private clinic. Initially, her condition was said to have improved, but the next day her health deteriorated: the woman's heart stopped.

This is the third recorded death caused by a monkey attack in the region. On September 10, in the city of Aligarh, a 55-year-old woman died after falling from a roof while trying to escape from monkeys. A similar tragedy occurred on September 14 in the city of Shimla.
