Father and son fall off cliff in India. Mother jumps after them

A tragic incident took place on August 21 in the village of Deonai in the Indian state of Maharashtra: three members of a family lost their lives due to a dispute over the purchase of an iPhone. This was reported by The Hindu, citing district head Vinay Gowda.
According to the details of the incident, 18-year-old Kunal Murlidhar Chandwade demanded a new iPhone from his father. However, his 48-year-old father Murlidhar Chandwade did not agree to this request. In an attempt to convince his parents, the angry young man climbed the top of the Khawdya hill at around 10:00 and threatened to jump off.
The village elder and other residents tried to calm the young man down, but he did not listen to anyone. To dissuade his son from this idea, the father climbed the hill and tried to move him away from the cliff.
But when the young man was falling from the edge of the cliff, he grabbed his father's hand and pulled him down with him. Seeing them fall, the 42-year-old mother Sangeeta Murlidhar Chandwade jumped into the cliff after her husband and son.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Naresh Thakare confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem and handed over to their relatives. The police have registered a case under Section 194 of the IPC. This section regulates the procedure for investigating accidents and suspicious deaths. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
