In August, the lowest volume of gasoline since the beginning of the year was imported

In August 2026, Uzbekistan imported 16.1 thousand tons of gasoline.

According to the analysis, gasoline imports have been sharply declining since the beginning of the year. In particular, 125.9 thousand tons of gasoline were purchased from abroad in January, and 153.3 thousand tons in February. In March, this figure stood at 149 thousand tons, and in April, it amounted to 140.5 thousand tons of fuel. Subsequently, the import volume dropped to 72 thousand tons in May, 50.7 thousand tons in June, and 27.2 thousand tons in July.

At the same time, it is apparent that the total import volume for the current year is significantly higher than the figures for 2025. Specifically, in January-August 2026, a total of 721.45 thousand tons of gasoline worth 437.4 million dollars was imported. This figure stood at 511 thousand tons worth 294.3 million dollars in the corresponding period of 2025. That is, nearly 210 thousand tons more gasoline was purchased this year compared to last year.

While the average price of one ton of imported gasoline was 575.9 dollars in the first eight months of 2025, it increased to 606.2 dollars this year.

For comparison, on September 10, one ton of gasoline was sold at the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange for 13.3 million soums, or 1,132 dollars.
