In Akhangaran, a 3-year-old kindergarten pupil died after drinking a chemical insect repellent. As reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact, and one person has been brought in as a suspect.
The incident occurred on August 28, 2026. Disinfection had been carried out at the kindergarten the day before. After the work was completed, the remaining chemical mixture was stored in violation of the established procedure.
The child mistook the agent for water and drank it. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but on August 30, he passed away despite the medical assistance provided.
The Akhangaran City Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code.
Currently, the preliminary investigation is ongoing. Based on its results, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of the responsible persons.
