A child attending a state kindergarten in the city of Ohangaron passed away after drinking an insect repellent.

It is reported that the incident occurred on August 28, 2026. The child, born in 2023, drank the BSM agent used against insects in the kitchen. The child was immediately taken to the Ohangaron City Medical Association. However, it was not possible to save his life.

"According to reports, the child's grandmother worked in the kitchen of this organization as a cook for an outsourcing company. It is said that the incident occurred when the child went to the kitchen to be near his grandmother. However, the final conclusion on this situation will be provided only based on the results of the investigation and inquiry being conducted by the competent authorities," the department's statement said.

Currently, relevant organizations are conducting an investigation into how the child entered the kitchen, why the dangerous substance was in a place within his reach, and who was responsible for storing it.

The department stated that no aspect of the incident that claimed the child's life would be ignored, the investigation is still ongoing, and measures within the framework of the law will be taken against the persons found guilty.
