In 2026, nearly 1 trillion soums were allocated to improve roads in Bukhara. At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that 900 billion soums were allocated this year to improve the condition of roads in the Bukhara region.

Nevertheless, there are issues awaiting solutions regarding reducing traffic congestion, ensuring pedestrian and vehicle safety, and improving public transport.

Today, 2 thousand kilometers of internal roads and 266 bridges in Bukhara are in need of repair. The President noted the need to expand private investments for their modernization and operation.

Additionally, instructions were given to study the possibilities of constructing alternative toll roads connecting the main tourist routes.
