On the eve of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev commissioned facilities worth a total of nearly 50 trillion soums.
Bukhara regional governor Botir Zaripov, who spoke with the head of state via videoconference at the ceremony, noted that Bukhara has never seen such development in its history.
“If you allow me, I will also dwell on a few economic figures. Here, historians and elders are sitting here, and even when Bukhara has been going through 2,500 years of history, there has not been as much development as there is today, esteemed President.
You have allocated funds for the restoration of historical monuments, allocated funds for the preservation of masterpieces of our people such as Mir Arab, Ark, and Minaret Kalon... Today, the whole world is amazed, and tourists from abroad are also amazed to see how these have been restored and restored, esteemed President,” said the head of the region.
Botir Zaripov promised to eliminate poverty and unemployment in the Bukhara region by the end of the year.
“As a result of your reforms, we have committed ourselves to increasing our gross regional product by 10 percent. You have provided 12 trillion soums of credit resources. You have asked what is not enough. I admit, esteemed President, that only we, led by the governors, have the opportunity to go down and use the opportunities, privileges, and conditions that you have created to reduce poverty and unemployment to zero: there will be no poverty or unemployment in Bukhara by the end of the year, esteemed President,” he said.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, while recognizing the high results achieved, noted that there is still much work to be done.
"This is a very big achievement. Once upon a time, in Bukhara, [only] cotton was not grown on the roof. There was no water, there was no road. We were the first to spend so much money on water, so much money on the road. Anyone who understands this understands. We need to know one thing: of course, the results we have achieved are high and they are ours, but we still have a lot of work to do," the head of state said.
