Over the past ten years, Uzbekistan has received more than $160 billion in foreign investment.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced at the ceremony of presenting state awards on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence at the Kuksaroy residence that over the past decade, more than $160 billion in foreign investment has been attracted to the country.

The head of state noted that over the past decade, the economy of Uzbekistan has grown steadily and at high rates. As a result of the work carried out in solidarity with the people, the volume of the economy has increased by more than 2.5 times. At the end of this year, Uzbekistan's gross domestic product is expected to exceed $180 billion.

In addition, 5.7 million permanent jobs have been created in the industrial, services and agricultural sectors. In order to improve transport and utility infrastructure, 83 thousand kilometers of public internal roads have been built and repaired.

For the first time, 8 million households in the regions received centralized drinking water, and another 11.5 million residents received improved water supply. Over the past decade, 650,000 families have acquired new modern housing. According to the President, this is equivalent to the "patrioticization" of at least 2.5 million residents.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the strength of independence is manifested not only in economic indicators, but also in the activities of people who work selflessly in culture, art, sports, civil service, neighborhood and public life. The contribution of Nuroniyil, neighborhood activists, military personnel and law enforcement officers to the peace and stability of society was especially emphasized.

"The greatest result of New Uzbekistan is a changed person, a citizen who believes in his own strength, a society that feels its involvement in tomorrow," the President noted. The Head of State expressed gratitude to the selfless and creative compatriots, the people, who are the main strength and support of independence. It was also emphasized that consistent efforts will be continued together with the people to build a New Uzbekistan, where human dignity is glorified, justice and progress are based.
