On November 2, Shavkat Mirziyoyev acquainted himself with the activities of the “Intil” International Language and Vocational Training Center located in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent city.
In the country, special attention is being paid to the targeted preparation of citizens wishing to work abroad for specific jobs. In this process, linking the procedures of language instruction, providing professional skills, confirming qualifications, and assisting with employment is considered important. The center, organized by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, serves precisely these tasks.
The head of state was informed about the center's capabilities, educational programs, and projects launched with foreign partners.
“Ten years ago, we had agreements on legal migration with only a few countries. Today, thanks to our openness policy, decent job opportunities are opening up for our youth in many countries. I want to send our youth abroad not as simple workers, but as qualified specialists. Our goal is to teach them a profession and help them adapt to a new environment and culture,” the president said.
At the center, located on an area of almost 3.5 hectares, all processes starting from a citizen's initial application to issuing documents, language and vocational training, taking exams, and departing for work abroad are set up in one place. The front office provides advice and assistance with visa matters. Banking services, ticket offices, and a call center also operate here.
The complex has classrooms with 600 seats, practical training rooms with 180 seats, an examination center with 120 seats, and a dormitory with 400 beds. Currently, 240 trainees are studying within the framework of 6 international projects. Education and dormitory accommodation are free of charge for them.
German, English, Japanese, Korean, Czech, Polish, Italian, and Slovak languages are taught at the center. Language training programs last from 6 to 10 months. Their content is continuously updated depending on the needs of foreign employers.
Vocational education covers 12 programs. Trainees are being prepared in areas such as medicine, welding, electrical and plumbing work, warehouse logistics, construction, hotel and restaurant service, and cooking.
“Wherever you go, introduce our culture, traditions, and history in that country. Recently, the mayor of the Japanese city of Nagoya sent me a letter, admiring the culture and manners of our youth. I want it to be said about you too that 'they are children of a great country with a great history',” the president said in a conversation with the trainees.
The leader of Uzbekistan inspected the classes related to the communal and construction sectors in practical simulation rooms. Here, trainees reinforce their professional skills in conditions close to a real workplace. In particular, working with plumbing and electrical systems is taught, and welders are trained based on ISO 9606 international standards. Educational equipment was brought from Germany, China, and Russia.
After that, the head of our state viewed the examination rooms. Attention is paid at the center to preparing trainees for international language certificates, and opportunities have been created to take ÖSD, TELC, J-CERT, and EPS TOPIK exams.
“To ensure they have a guaranteed job after graduating from school, we must teach both the language and the profession while still at school,” the president said.
Preparation is being carried out jointly with foreign partners. Projects involving companies such as “Proud Partners”, “Onodera User Run”, “Deutsche Bahn”, “RecruitMed GmbH”, “PentaHospital”, and the University of Perugia are aimed at training citizens according to employer requirements and assisting with employment.
Coworking areas, sports grounds, and recreation zones have also been organized for the trainees. 40 local staff and teachers, as well as 6 foreign language teachers, work at the center.
Based on the needs of foreign employers, the president gave recommendations to introduce this experience — which combines candidate selection, language and vocational training, and employment assistance — in other regions as well.
