Uzbekistan and the Japanese prefecture of Yamagata discussed cooperation in the field of employment
Issues of recruiting and professional training of specialists became the topic of a meeting between Director of the Migration Agency Mukhsinkhudzha Abdurakhmonov and a Japanese delegation, the agency reported on October 20.
The talks took place at the INTIL International Language and Vocational Training Center. The delegation included representatives of the Yamagata Prefecture government, a local university, and Japanese companies interested in recruiting and professionally training specialists from Uzbekistan.
The Japanese side stressed that enterprises in the region continue to need personnel and expressed interest in attracting foreign specialists who are ready to work at local enterprises, adapt to life in the prefecture, and build long-term labor relations.
The Migration Agency presented a model for the targeted training of specialists in Uzbekistan, taking into account the requirements of Japanese employers. The proposed mechanism assumes that Japanese companies will determine the qualification requirements, the required level of language proficiency, and the content of curriculum programs. The Uzbek side, for its part, is ready to ensure the selection of candidates, their professional and language training, practical classes, and pre-departure adaptation.
In this regard, the capabilities of the INTIL center were presented, including its educational infrastructure, platforms for practical training, interviews, and professional testing. The center also has a dormitory for about 400 people. The Agency declared its readiness to provide its infrastructure to foreign partners free of charge when implementing joint targeted training programs followed by the employment of citizens.
The parties paid special attention to the training of drivers to work in Japan. The Uzbek side reported the creation of a specialized site in the Tashkent Region, where it is planned to use right-hand drive trucks and simulate Japanese road conditions. This will allow for practical training and the assessment of candidates' professional skills before their departure abroad.
