In Shanghai, China, humanoid robots were put on a 24-hour work shift in a store.

It is reported that six AgiBot Genie G2 robots worked in a convenience store. During the shift, the robots greeted customers, served them food and drinks, restocked items on the shelves, wiped tables, and prepared coffee. The robots' work could be observed remotely via the internet.

During the experiment, the ability of AI-powered robots to serve customers was evaluated. The robots demonstrated that they could perform tasks outside the laboratory as well.

For reference, earlier, Xiaomi's humanoid robots worked an 8-hour shift for the first time at an automobile plant, fully completing their daily quota. This was the robots' first test under real manufacturing conditions.

During the shift, the robots stopped twice to recharge. They charged for the first time after 3 hours and 2 minutes of work, and for the second time after 6 hours and 3 minutes. In the second half of the shift, one of the robots dropped a panel on the floor. A wheeled robot returned it to its place. Overall, the robots worked for 8 hours and 5 minutes.
