On the portal, one of the future spouses first creates the application, and the other confirms it using a special code. How to register a marriage in Uzbekistan and how much does it cost?
Prospective spouses submit an application either through the my.gov.uz portal or in person at the civil registry office.
Through my.gov.uz:
On the portal, find the "Marriage Registration" service and click "Submit Application." Completing the form is said to take about six minutes.
The application is submitted by two people, but not simultaneously. First, one of the prospective spouses (we'll call them the applicant) creates the application. Then, the other person receives a special code from them and completes the application. Let's look at both steps in order.
Applicant's steps:
1. Select the "New Application" service type.
2. Check their PIN, which is automatically entered from the account they logged in with. Using this number, the system automatically retrieves the remaining information: passport information, date of birth, nationality, and place of birth.
3. Accepts the terms of the public offer and submits the application.
4. Receive an invoice—a code generated by the system in response to the submitted application.
The applicant then shares this code with the second participant. It's important to do so promptly, as the invoice is only valid for three days, after which the application is automatically cancelled. If the second participant fails to enter the code within this time, they will have to resubmit the application.
The second participant proceeds:
