How to apply for alimony?
According to the Family Code, parents are obligated to maintain their minor children, regardless of whether they are married or living separately. If a father or mother fails to fulfill this obligation, alimony is collected by agreement of the parties or through the court. From September 1, 2026, the amount of alimony for one child cannot be less than 360,400 sum per month.

How to file a claim for child support?
According to Article 96 of the Family Code, parents are obligated to maintain their minor children. This duty rests on both the father and the mother.
Parents have the right to pay child support voluntarily, by mutual consent. In such a case, applying to court is not required. The amount of child support, as well as the procedure and terms of its payment, may also be determined by the parents in a notarized agreement. Under the agreement, child support may be paid: as a specific share of income; as a fixed monetary sum paid periodically; as a lump-sum monetary payment; through the transfer of property, or by other means.
The amount of child support for a minor child agreed upon by the parties must not be lower than the amount that could be collected by a court.
If one of the parents does not participate in the maintenance of the child, child support is collected through the court. To do this, the person entitled to receive child support does not need to wait for any established deadline. As a rule, child support is collected from the day of application to the court.
Cases regarding the collection of child support are considered by civil courts.
A claim for the collection of child support is, as a rule, filed with the court at the defendant's place of residence. At the same time, the person demanding child support may also apply to the court at their own place of residence.
Plaintiffs in claims for the collection of child support are exempt from paying state duty. This rule is enshrined in Article 8 of the Law "On State Duty".
