Uzbekistan ranked 53rd among 146 countries in the global military strength ranking for 2026. Among the Central Asian states, the republic showed the best result, ahead of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

According to the published Global Firepower ranking, the top three leaders are the United States, Russia, and China. France, Japan, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Italy were also in the top ten.

Uzbekistan placed at the 53rd line with a military strength index of 0.9908 and became the first in Central Asia. The remaining countries of the region took the following positions:

Kazakhstan — 58th place, index 1.0433.

Turkmenistan — 78th place, index 1.7459.

Tajikistan — 100th place, index 2.1749.

Kyrgyzstan — 109th place, index 2.3969.

Among other post-Soviet states, Russia holds a high position — second place in the world. Further positions were distributed as follows:

Ukraine — 20th place, index 0.3691.

Azerbaijan — 60th place, index 1.1991.

Belarus — 70th place, index 1.4072.

Georgia — 95th place, index 2.0779.

Armenia — 101st place, index 2.2016.

Moldova — 136th place, index 3.6225.

The ranking is not a direct prediction of the outcome of a potential military conflict. It allows for comparing the military capabilities of states based on a chosen methodology, but by itself does not reflect all factors that could influence the course of actual combat operations.

In addition, it is reported that the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan are embarking on a large-scale implementation of artificial intelligence technologies and strengthening the protection of digital borders. Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the creation of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and a specialized cybersecurity laboratory in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Defense.
