Uzbekistan recognized as the leader in Central Asia in terms of peacefulness

According to the Global Peace Index 2026 international ranking, Uzbekistan took 37th place, ranking among the 40 most peaceful countries in the world. This indicator was the highest among the countries of Central Asia.

Among the countries of the region, Kazakhstan took 44th place, Tajikistan — 47th place, Kyrgyzstan — 61st place, and Turkmenistan — 66th place.

Russia took the very last — 163rd place in the list of peaceful countries. Ukraine, the DR Congo, and Sudan were also recorded in the last places.

Iceland, which maintains its status as the safest and most peaceful country in the world, led the global ranking. The next places were taken by New Zealand and Switzerland.
