It is proposed to allocate up to 1.5 billion UZS in grants for culture and art projects

A new procedure for financing culture and art projects from state grants is being developed in Uzbekistan. The draft departmental order of the Minister of Culture defines the conditions for holding the competition, determining the winners, and allocating funds.

According to the draft, grant competitions will be held at least once a year. The funds will be allocated to the Ministry of Culture from the State Budget.

The grant amount will be determined depending on the project's direction. In particular:

Non-governmental organizations, individual entrepreneurs, self-employed persons, citizens of Uzbekistan who have reached the age of 18, and creative teams can participate in the competition. Each applicant may submit an application in only one direction. Participation in the competition will be free of charge.

The competition is planned to be held in five stages. First, the applications will be screened, after which the participants will defend their projects before the commission. Projects will be evaluated on a 100-point scale, and those scoring at least 60 points will be recommended for funding within the allocated funds.

In addition, the targeted expenditure of the grant funds will be monitored. In case of misuse of funds or failure to achieve the specified results, full or partial repayment of the funds may be required.
