The Uzbekistan U-23 national football team lost to China in the bronze medal match of the Asian Games being held in Japan. Regular time ended in a 2-2 draw. The winner was decided in a penalty shootout, in which China prevailed with a score of 4-3.

On October 3, the Uzbekistan U-23 national team took the field against China for the bronze medal of the Asian Games. The main time of the match, which took place at the Toyota Stadium in Nagoya, ended in a 2:2 draw.

In the 15th minute of the match, China's representative Hu Hetao opened the score — 1:0. Two minutes before the end of the first half, Sardorbek Bahromov equalized the score for the Uzbekistan national team after a well-organized combination — 1:1.

In the 53rd minute of the second half, Wang Yuwei put China ahead again — 2:1.

Uzbekistan's football players tried to change the score until the final minutes of the match. In the 90th minute, Shodiyor Shodiboyev scored a goal, bringing the result to 2:2.

According to the regulations of the Asian Games, no extra time was played in the match for the bronze medal, and the winner was determined directly in a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout, Uzbekistan converted 3 shots, while China converted 4.

Thus, China claimed the bronze medal, while the Uzbekistan U-23 national team finished the Asian Games in fourth place.
