Five hidden drug warehouses worth 5.2 billion soums revealed in Namangan
In Namangan, the activities of a group of individuals suspected of illegally storing pharmaceutical drugs for the purpose of their subsequent sale have been thwarted.
The special operation was conducted by officers of the SSS Department for the Namangan region jointly with the regional customs and internal affairs departments.
According to the agency, three residents of Namangan born in 2002, 1997, and 1987, presumably acting by prior agreement, set up secret warehouses in five residential buildings.
Large batches of medicines lacking the required quality certificates were stored in these premises. As law enforcement agencies established, the drugs were manufactured abroad and illegally imported into Uzbekistan for subsequent sale.
During the inspection, 46,865 units of 287 types of pharmaceutical drugs were discovered and seized, including "Erinit", "Gemaza", and "Phenotropil".
The preliminary value of the seized medicines is estimated at 5.2 billion soums.
All drugs were seized in compliance with procedural rules. Forensic chemical and commodity expert evaluations have been ordered for the discovered products.
A pre-investigation check is currently underway. Based on its results, a procedural decision will be made.
