A warehouse containing illegal medications worth over half a billion soums was discovered in Namangan.

An underground warehouse containing over 13,000 units of medications was discovered in a residential building in Namangan. These medications were stored in violation of sanitary standards and without proper documentation confirming their origin and quality. The total value of the seized batch exceeded 500 million soums.

The operation was carried out jointly by officers from the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the Customs Committee. During a search of a home in Namangan, law enforcement officers discovered medications that a 30-year-old man had been storing for resale.

A total of 13,200 units of medications of 56 different brands were seized. These included medications such as Cefotaxime, Bifidumbacterin, Atropine, Tidomet Forte, and others.

According to law enforcement agencies, this batch of medications was illegally imported from a neighboring republic and intended for subsequent sale. A preliminary assessment indicates the total value of the seized medications is 577.4 million soums.

A criminal case has been opened against the man for the illegal trafficking and storage of substandard medications. An investigation is currently underway.

Earlier, a counterfeit drug supply channel from Russia was shut down in Tashkent, resulting in the discovery of 29 types of medications worth 600 million soums.
