Illegal drug trafficking worth half a billion soums was stopped in Namangan.

An attempt to illegally distribute medications worth approximately half a billion soums was thwarted in Namangan.
In the Namangan region, the sale of pharmaceuticals worth a total of 577.4 million soums was prevented. The shipment lacked the necessary documentation confirming their quality.
The shipment was discovered by officers from the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office and other law enforcement agencies during a sting operation.
According to the department, over 13,000 packages of 56 types of medications intended for further distribution were stored in a house located in the Boburshoh mahalla. All discovered medications were seized as evidence, preventing their distribution.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with this incident under the article that provides for liability for the production, acquisition, storage, transportation, or distribution of substandard or counterfeit medications for the purpose of sale, as well as for a number of other violations related to the circulation of medications.
Investigative measures are currently underway.
As a reminder, customs officials in Tashkent previously stopped an attempt to import more than 160,000 packages of the counterfeit antibiotic Efba, worth over 7.3 billion soums. The accompanying documents listed the medication as being manufactured in India, but the packaging and vials lacked information about the manufacturer or country of origin, and the total weight of the shipment exceeded 21 tons.
