Fire at a shopping center in Russia: people jumped from windows, 3 people died

In the city of Sterlitamak of the Republic of Bashkortostan within Russia, a fire broke out in the "Solnechniy" shopping complex, which is popular among local residents.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, three people died and four others were injured as a result of the fire.

The fire occurred in a four-story brick building of the shopping and service complex. 17 people were evacuated from the territory of "Solnechniy".

A criminal case has been opened regarding the situation. According to eyewitnesses, the alarm system may not have worked during the fire. Some were forced to jump from the windows of the upper floors of the building to escape the fire. Others fell from the ladders set up to rescue them.

However, the administration of the "Solnechniy" shopping complex denies that the fire alarm did not work.

According to the local Ministry of Health, those injured in the fire have been hospitalized. The condition of one of them is serious. The condition of a 16-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman who jumped from the third floor is assessed as moderately severe.

Meanwhile, the Baza Telegram channel, which is close to law enforcement agencies, reports that a total of seven people were injured in the fire.
